tiny dreams

I've had this dream of living small for the last few years. Thus far, my dream has been to live in a shipping container. But tonight I met a friend of a friend who built her own tiny house!

It's 120 sq ft. That doesn't sound like much, but what she's done with it is nothing short of *amazing*. She lives in it with her 3 dogs. Most of the materials she got from craigslist. And it must be really empowering to build your house yourself! I'm really inspired. I'm going craigslist hunting asap!

felt bento box

Today I completed the bento box itself. The first image is the box, the second image is of the completed parts + a curious kitteh. (I guess it *does* look pretty tasty!)

pickle patch

A friend of mine wanted to make a friend of his a patch for her phenomenal pickling skillz. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the embroidery machine to work so I handmade one for him to give to her. (I'm not syndicating this post in hopes she won't see it until after she gets the patch!)

Update: The embroidery machine is now working! I'm sure the one from the machine will look *much* better. Regardless, it was a fun 'thing' to make! ^-^

pole pig

I didn't actually make this but I'm counting the photo as my thing. This is a pole pig that my friends at hackerbot labs turned into a jacob's ladder.

felt tooth fairy pillow

The little girl I nanny got a tooth fairy pillow from her grandma. It was super cute but I thought I could make a handmade one with a little more personality. The embroidered tooth came out a little wonky so I'm going to redo it but it's certainly proof of concept! It is held together with two small neodynium magnets.

new craft space - part 1

I'm in the middle of a move (my 4th in 6 months). The first thing to go up is always the craft space.
